American Avocets
[08726]

 $70.00

The American avocet is a summer transient in Yellowstone. These six birds rested on a rock in a kettle lake in Lamar Valley. They were there for just a few days, feeding and relaxing in the sun. They use their slender upturned bills to sweep back and forth while wading in shallow water to catch insects, shrimp and other aquatic invertebrates.
