Elk Calf and Pine Tree in Snow

It was snowing hard. A small elk herd was slowly wandering along, finding little to eat. One calf walked toward the pine tree. I liked the shape of the tree and hoped the calf would at least stop under the left branch. She stopped and then reached up to nibble on the lowest needles. The curve of her neck as she looked into the tree is one of several nice shapes that hold

this photograph together.
