Description
The hoar frost builds on grasses, trees, bushes and rocks up to two inches thick. Winds later in the morning might shake it off, or more likely, it will melt off even in the weak sunshine of January. The heavier fog will fade, revealing and isolating parts of the landscape and giving these elements a brief dominance and presence. The clouds of cold mist thin to gentle translucent ribbons and trail off into nothing. The light fog muffled the sound so that the loudest sound was a raven calling from far away to the west.
