Description
The leopard has the greatest habitat tolerance of any Old World cat, ranging from rain forest to desert. In Africa, they are most successful in woodland, grassland savanna and forest but also occur in mountain habitats, coastal scrub, swamps, semi-desert and desert. Leopards have extremely broad diets including more than 90 species in sub-Saharan Africa, ranging from arthropods to large antelope. Population densities vary with habitat and the availability of prey.
