Description
A heavy snowstorm like this one muffles most sounds until only two, close sounds dominate. The loudest sound happens when a big snowflake smacks your ear. The other sound is the hiss that snowflakes make as they rush past your head to the ground. Heavy snowfall can also isolate elements of a landscape that usually go completely unnoticed. These three trees became powerful figures against the yellow rock of the canyon. The diagonal lines of the falling snowflakes create texture and a sense of motion.
