Description
Trumpeter swans often stand on one foot with powerful grace for extended periods of time. They preen, sleep, and watch everything around them. Stretching their long necks and long wings, and twisting their heads back and around to touch oil glands at the base of their tail, they pull the oil through and under their wings while carefully cleaning and smoothing their silky feathers.
